Giving Instruction is an expression that is used in order that order person does what we instruct or request, or giving imperative to other people for to do or not to do something. Giving instruction sometimes called comparative/prohibition.
Example of instructions
Instructing:
Remove the pan from the heat, please! Switch off the phone in class! Please press the button gently! Open the door, please! Please read the rules first!Example of Giving Instruction:
Adit : Rizki, come here please!
Rizki : OK, what’s up Adit?
Adit : Please, clean the whiteboard!
Rizki : OK!
NOTES:
1. If we do not use a verb as a commanding word, use be + adjective.
Examples:
Be careful. Be gentle.2. When we forbid someone to do something, use don’t +verb infinitive without to or don't + be+ adjective.
Examples:
Don’t be noisy. Don’t eat the fried chicken in the cupboard.
