Invitation

Hi guys, do you know what is the invitation? Invitation is a request to somebody to do something or go somewhere.

Now our little girl is turning Two! Please join us in the celebration of Vanessa Angel’s second birthday Date: Saturday, July 30, 2011 Time: 4 pm Place: Jalan RTA.Milono No.76 R.S.V.P by: July 28, 2011 085249074152

The text  is an invitation in written  form. In an  invitation, there are date, time, and place of the event. Sometimes there is also R.S.V.P which means “please reply”.

Here are some expressions to invite and accept or decline an invitation.

Inviting:

      Will you go with me…?

      Please do come to my house (Please do look me up)

      Will you come with me to Raffi’s birthday party?

      What about having dinner at the Viola Café?

      Would you like to visit Candi Borobudur with us?

Accepting an Invitation:

      Sure.

      That sounds a nice idea.

      All right.

      I won’t say no!

      O.K!

Declining an Invitation:

      Sorry, I can’t.

      I’d love to, but I have another plan that day.

      Thank you very much, but I have many things to do right now.

      That’s very kind of you, but I have had another plan. Sorry.

      I’m sorry, I will go to my uncle’s wedding.
