Giving Instructions

Giving Instruction is an expression that is used in order that order person does what we instruct or request, or giving imperative to other people for to do or not to do something. Giving instruction sometimes called comparative/prohibition.

Example of instructions

Instructing:

      Remove the pan from the heat, please!

      Switch off the phone in class!

      Please press the button gently!

      Open the door, please!

      Please read the rules first!

      Please read the direction for use first!

Appointment

           Appointment is a plan with someone of some people to do something at the  future time.

Daniela : Let’s see Aunt Michelle in the hospital.

Cliff      : I’m sorry, not now. I have to finish the homework and send it to Mrs.Rita.

Daniela : What about tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm?

Cliff      : Tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm? OK
.

The sentences in bold are used to make and accept an appointment.

Here are some expressions we can use to make and accept an appointment.

 Making an Appointment

      Will you pick me up at 2 pm?

      What if we go cycling on the car free day next Sunday?

      Will you go out with me tonight?

      What if we go swimming this afternoon?

      I will go to your house at 3 pm. Is it all right?

Sympathy Expressions

Sympathy expression is an expression or feeling of pity and sorrow when we know and see someone or people are unlucky or have trouble and in bad condition. By expressing sympathy we want to show our concern or carefulness on other people’s condition.

How can we give sympathy expression to someone? We express it directly to him/her orally or we can use a letter or card by post also by short message service (SMS), e-mail, television, radio, and newspaper if he/she who got the trouble is far from us.

Gaining Attention

Gaining Attention is way or expression that is spoken so that other people will pay their attention to what we want to.

 Example:

      Attention, please!

      May/can I have your attention, please!

      Excuse me!

      Look here!

Happiness Expression is an expression that is used to show that someone or people are glad hole excited feelings.

Anita   : I just knew that you have a cat.

Ali     : I do. Mr.Ridwan gave me this cat two days ago. I’m so happy about it. You know, I really want to    have a cat.

Anita   : It is really pretty.

Hi guys, do you know what is the invitation? Invitation is a request to somebody to do something or go somewhere.

The text  is an invitation in written  form. In an  invitation, there are date, time, and place of the event. Sometimes there is also R.S.V.P which means “please reply”.
